The sale will be open normal business hours, with extended hours of 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 10. Volunteers are needed to help set up the sale the week before. All the for sale items need to be taken out of boxes and sorted on the tables. To help, contact the library. Creative auction The library has collected unique chairs, shelves, and other miscellaneous small pieces of furniture for the annual creative auction in September. It is seeking creative people to take one of these raw items home to turn into a one-of-a-kind piece of art. Many of the items just need a new coat of paint and some added flare. Pinterest offers a variety of ideas and instructions of how to turn furniture into art. Many of these projects can be done by people of all ages and even as a family. Again this year, we will also be accepting any handmade item for the sale, from hand knit baby blankets to handmade birdhouses, paintings to homemade jams, and woodcrafts to hand strung jewelry. Finished items must be returned by Sept. 11. The silent auction will take place Sept. 14 to 25.
