CAMPBELLSPORT – The Campbellsport Public Library has a large social
calendar set for the month of August, including:

•Reading incentive — Aug. 3 to 28. The library will offer a reading
incentive program. Children should pick up reading logs from the
library, and when they have hit 100 minutes, the log may be turned in
in exchange for an ice cream or pizza coupon. An unlimited number of
logs may be turned in.

•Water games — 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5. Miss Katey will offer a day
of water games. Children should come dressed to get wet and bring a
towel.

viewing of the teen movie “Divergent,” with faction-themed games, free
pizza and soda. A showing of the sequel “Insurgent” will follow at 4

of how Beatrice Prior must confront her inner demons and continue her

apart with the help from others on her side. The film is PG-13, and
children under the age of 13 must have parental permission.

the end of summer with banana splits.

Volunteers needed

The library is seeking volunteers to help set up the used book sale,
which will be Monday, Aug. 10, through Friday, Aug. 21. The sale will
include a large collection of adult books, children’s movies, puzzles
and magazines.

The sale will be open normal business hours, with extended hours of 8
a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 10.

Volunteers are needed to help set up the sale the week before. All the
for sale items need to be taken out of boxes and sorted on the tables.
To help, contact the library.

Creative auction

The library has collected unique chairs, shelves, and other
miscellaneous small pieces of furniture for the annual creative
auction in September. It is seeking creative people to take one of
these raw items home to turn into a one-of-a-kind piece of art. Many
of the items just need a new coat of paint and some added flare.
Pinterest offers a variety of ideas and instructions of how to turn
furniture into art. Many of these projects can be done by people of
all ages and even as a family.

Again this year, we will also be accepting any handmade item for the
sale, from hand knit baby blankets to handmade birdhouses, paintings
to homemade jams, and woodcrafts to hand strung jewelry.

Finished items must be returned by Sept. 11. The silent auction will
take place Sept. 14 to 25.
