Info from www.fdlreporter.com FOND DU LAC COUNTY - A partisan primary election will be held in Fond du Lac County on Aug. 9 for two county offices, one state Senate seat and two national seats. Town of Taycheedah Clerk Brenda Schneider will face Joan Rosenthal for the County Treasurer's seat. Both candidates are running as Republicans. Incumbent Deputy Register of Deeds Jim Krebs is challenging incumbent Register of Deeds Shawn Kelly. Both are running as Republicans. In the state Senate, the District 18 seat is vacant, formerly filled by Sen. Rick Gudex (R- Fond du Lac). John Lemberger and Mark Harris, both Democratic candidates, are running for the seat, as well as Mark Elliott and Dan Feyen, both running as Republicans. One Democratic candidate and one Republican candidate will appear on the November ballot. Running as Democratic candidates for the 6th Congressional District seat are Michael Slattery and Sarah Lloyd. Whoever wins the primary will face incumbent Republican Glenn Grothman in November. The United States Senator race also has two Democratic candidates, Russ Feingold and Scott Harbach. Whoever takes the most votes in early August will face incumbent Republican Ron Johnson on the November ballot. Other seats on the ballot include: District Attorney: Incumbent Eric Toney running unopposed County Clerk: Incumbent Lisa Freiberg running unopposed State Senate, District 14: Incumbent Republican Luther S. Olsen running against Democrat Brian Smith State Senate, District 20: Incumbent Republican Duey Stroebel running unopposed State Assembly, District 41: Incumbent Republican Joan Ballweg running unopposed State Assembly, District 42: Incumbent Republican Keith Ripp running against Democrat George Ferriter State Assembly, District 52: Incumbent Republican Jeremy Thiesfeldt running against Democrat Paul Czisny State Assembly, District 53: Incumbent Republican Michael Schraa running unopposed State Assembly, District 59: Incumbent Republican Jesse Kremer running unopposed There will be no Fond du Lac County school or municipal referendums on the August ballot, according to the county clerk's office. Polls will be open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 9. Voters will need to show a picture I.D. to obtain a ballot. In-person absentee voting will take place on weekdays until Aug. 5.
